Tilghman Creek is about 19 miles from Herring Bay. Entry is off the Miles River just behind Tilghman Point. The anchorage is excellent but a little tricky to enter. It is very secluded with little traffic and great protection from weather out of any direction. There are a few watermen located at the dock at the end of the creek. There is a commercial wharf at the south end where you can land a dinghy and take your pet to shore. Approach: There is a very narrow channel into Tilghman Creek. The marks are visible from the Miles River inside Tilghman Point. Except in very low tides there should be no less than 6 feet in the channel. Approach G1 wide and keep it well to port. Aim for G3 and stay very close to that. Then head to R2 and stay close but not too close. After you pass the red turn to starboard and follow the charts for deep water. Water with depths over 10 feet goes back fairly far into the creek.
