Mark haul out
Author Last Post
It was a good day on the water! The davit made for an easy haul out. Ted had everything well thought out.

My only mistake was not grabbing some of the growth to take to my science teacher wife to put in her bay aquarium at the high school.
Kudos to Mary and Tom for having a working davit. What a difference a crane makes!

The HHSA race marks were hauled for the winter today.  The entire evolution went smoothly.  Great weather.  Great Crew!  Thanks to Tom Wiltshire and Mary McClellan whose davit on their powerboat Autumn Moon saved our aging backs.  Thanks to Megan Hines who provided the HHN pump out boat for hauling the marks.  And thanks to Michel Jichlinski and Doug Ellmore for their muscle and willingness to get dirty.

Ted
In addition to Tom and Mary on August Moon, we have Megan, Ryan, Michel, Doug and myself.  That is sufficient.  The work crew should meet Megan at the D-dock floating platform at noon.  Once the marks are loaded on the pump out boat, some of you will likely need to return to HHN aboard August Moon.

Ted
We are looking good. Thanks to all who have volunteered. We have Tom and Mary onboard their Carver 42 August Moon (we used their boat last year) who will meet us at HHSA C, since they will be out cruising Saturday evening. The rest of us (Michel, Doug, and I, and any others, will meet Megan at HHN (time TBD) and ride out on the HHN pump out boat to meet August Moon at HHSA C.

Tentatively, meet at HHSA C at 12:30, so depart HHN around noon. Megan will let us know where to meet her.

August Moon’s davit is working so we can use that to haul the marks up to her swim platform where we can clean most of the muck, then transfer the marks to the pump out boat. Like last year, we’ll transfer the marks from the pump out boat to one of the travel lift work areas to finish cleaning them with a power washer.

I will store them in my garage.

My troubles with powering the hoist are gone, so the human muscle factor will likely be restricted to fending the mark off my boat. Mary and I were planning to anchor out Saturday night up Broad Creek, so the later the better for me. Noon would be an easier time for me, but we could return sooner if you wish.

Let me know, I should be able to help. I also have to cut grass, I've not done it in 6 weeks.

Hi Les,
EYC tells me you retrieved Spirit's trophy for the Labor Day Regatta. If so, thanks a bunch and let me know when we can meet.
Best,
Tom

Ted, I will be on call at the clinical center and cannot make it.

I am planing to pull the marks this Sunday.  Megan Hines has offered use of HHN's pump out boat, a 20+ foot runabout.  So far I have Megan, Michel Jichlinski, and myself.  We need a few more.  Besides the work on the boat to pull the marks, there is work on the travel lift ramp to clean them.  I will provide a power washer.  For those who haven't done it, it is a very dirty job, so wear clothes you don't mind getting dirty, and bring gloves.

Time isn't set yet, but probably sometime in the morning.

Thanks - Ted
