Spring boat works
Author Last Post
The crew of Red Sky is looking forward to the sailing season. I am bummed we missed the practices, but I was on travel and today we still had items on the punch list. We hope to get out to sail tomorrow afternoon for a shakeout before Wednesday's season opener.

What we accomplished this spring with all the bad weather feels monumental. The weather was very uncooperative, as it likely was for you, too. Luckily, one of my skinny cross country runners helped climb in all the locker and such as we removed and rebidded hardware.

Spring work on Red Sky completed:
• Service outboard carb, new water impeller, and new oil pump.
• Designed and installed a split Back Stay
• Installed sail track for #1
• Installed sail track for #3
• Rebuilt four used 2 speed winches which were used to replace cockpit single speed winches install 2 winches on cabin top
• Replaced 4 portholes
• Installed new compass
• Repaired non-working knot meter
• Completed rebedding of all stanchions and pulpit
• Repaired and installed stern trim and painted
• Painted companionway trim
• Installed new lifelines
• Completed fairing of re-cored bow deck and painted
• Service deck areas with fairing and paint
• Service chain plates for shrouds
• Replaced all wiring with marine wire and cleaned up wire nest.
• Relocated Batteries for easy service, swapped in another new dual use AGM battery
• Installed new sink red/white LED light
• Repaired Bow light
• Installed new approved stern light
• Installed new fire extinguisher
• Installed new stern flag support
• Installed and painted rebuilt C&C 24 rudder and tiller (removing last replacement rudder and tiller acquired in 2016)
• Freshened bottom paint, including new two-tone water line
• Cleaned and waxed hull
• Designed and installed new bridle main traveler
• Designed and Installed new mainsheet
• Serviced mast winch
• Marine survey completed
• Serviced interior mast step at keel

Project remaining:
• Install auto-tiller for cruising or short-handed class races per CHESSS rules
• Adjust blocks on sail track for new used #1 and new #3 sails
• Install new main
• Pickup repaired #2 jib
• Install cockpit locker latch
• Complete Compass light installation
• Complete GPS to auto-tiller wiring

Cheers,

Doug
