Autumn Classic Race
Author Last Post
Well, if I followed Keith’s advice and reread the SI’s before posting, I would have seen it was not a Regatta format. I thought it was.

Looking forward to to a beautiful day on the Bay tomorrow.

Whoosh will be setting up for an on-time start but will assess the wind conditions once we are out there, same as always.  Just one race and we will try to pick a decent longer course since we have more time. I'm more concerned about lack of wind than wind direction - wind shifts can occur at any time during a race. We will do our best to adjust the finish line if the wind shifts dramatically.

Looks to be great weather - too bad the race wasn't today, the wind was really nice, at least at the dock.

I’m sure Whoosh will appraise the situation in the morning and make the best decision possible.
The Autumn Classic is a single race, not a regatta.

I think it is one race, not multiple races. I would run it as scheduled. These forecasts are not that accurate.

Doug - WHOOSH is RC.  I haven't looked at the wind forecast for today but yesterday it looked at least like a nice day, moderate wind and mostly sunny.  We'll see how it goes once we're out there.  WHOOSH plans to leave HHN NLT 9:30 AM and be setting up by 10 or so.  We'll rely on the experienced racers to help with the line and the course, as usual.

Looking forward to racing Sunday. I have a bit of a withdrawal.

The wind looks like it could flip around start time on Sunday. Not sure who is race committee, but look at windy.com and http://sailflow.com/spot/713?utm_source=partner&utm_medium=link&utm_campaign=yachtscoring for Sunday and you can see what I mean.

If it is close to the same model Sunday morning, we may want to take that into consideration. We may need a postponement to catch the flip, I really don't want to be OCS like my race to Solomons or have it prematurely cancelled.

Sunday looks like it could be a nice sailing afternoon! Hope to see a bunch of boat out there. If you have not race much this year, please join in!

Cheers,

Doug
