Gaia Race Committee Wed, 15 May
Author Last Post
Looks like the forecast may break GAIA's streak for gale winds:

Forecast from NWS:

High pressure will briefly build across the area Tuesday night
into Wednesday, promoting dry conditions. After overnight lows
in the 40s, temperatures should moderate into the upper 60s and
lower 70s Wednesday.

In large scale northwest flow, the next shortwave trough will be
diving out of Canada by late Wednesday. The associated surface
low will likely track north of the area, sending a cold front
southward by Wednesday night. Moisture with the front is
somewhat limited, so there is just a low shower chance at the
moment.

HHSA racers,

Gaia will be your race committee this Wed, 15 May.

The zone area marine weather synopsis as of this afternoon is looking great for Wed (below). We look forward to an on time start and hopefully as nice of weather as the first two races have been!

A front will remain stalled across southern Virginia through early Monday as areas of low pressure track along it. An occluded front will move to the east late Monday. High pressure will build toward the region from the Ohio Valley during the middle of the week, followed by a cold front late in the week. Small Craft Advisories may be needed Monday night into Tuesday.
