Race committee is not leaving the dock yet. We are going to wait at HHN until the storm passes. Not sure how fast that will be but we will most likely have to postpone the start.

Matt,

A couple of other points:  Record your start times, record finish times in clock time not elapsed time, record the order of finish for each boat independent of class.  The start line should be set square to the wind not the first mark.  The finish line should be square to the last mark on the course.

After the last boat is in, take a picture of the sign-in sheet and text it to me at (703) 508-1385.

Last , we have a new boat in the fleet:  Little Lion, a J/120.  She won't be on the sign-in sheet, but she's clear to race so write her in as a guest if she comes out.  She'll be racing in non-spin-racing class.

If you have any questions, get on the VHF and ask the racers.  We'd be glad to help.

Have fun!

Matt,

Thanks for taking this on.  Being RC can be satisfying - almost as much fun as racing.
Pick a course that makes sense to you.
Set a line that's more or less square and feel free to get a competitor to help square it up
Keep your time straight (start your sequences on the 5's, it's a lot easier)
Record the finishes to the nearest second

Delirium expects to be back this week and we'll be cheering you on!

Good afternoon racers! I have volunteered my boat (Snacktime) to be race committee this week and am excited to do so! That said, this is my first time being on a race committee boat. There will be 3-4 of us, I've read all the documentation several times, and it seems pretty straightforward. I'll head over to HHS to pickup the necessary equipment around lunchtime on Sunday. Everything should be fine, but just wanted to give a heads up that it's my first time.

Also, should anyone feel like joining us on the Race Committee boat to help out, you're more than welcome. My fridge is always cold and full, and of course there are always some good snacks on board.

Weather right now doesn't look great...30% chance of thunderstorms starting from 3pm onwards. But that means 70% of no thunderstorms, right? 10kt winds from the S/SW. If the storm stays away, it should be some nice wind for August.
