Thanks Hank for the call out.

Congrats Keith and crew of Jubilee! Well done!

After selling Red Sky in March, I wish we were able to close on the boat earlier in the year and not miss the early weeks. As a result, I didn't think we ever were going to be in the hunt this year with a new boat and a lot of new crew with little to no experience racing. It was to be a learning year with our main goal to get experience in a wide range of conditions and shake out the boat with new crew to prepare for A2B next year. That we did.

We missed a number of races. We missed the Free For All while doing RC at West River. We also missed a Wednesday sailing around DELMARVA after Gov Cup. But more importantly, we needed some better finishes Wednesdays and frostbite. The non-spin racing is a competitive growing group for sure!

Though we sailed over 1600nm this year, we are still learning how to get the speed out of the boat across a wide range of wind and sea states. Older sails meant some significant maintenance during the year. We did address a number of issues with the boat and identified more to do over the winter to prepare for A2B.

All in all, we still had a lot of success and great fun racing our 1987 CS 30 Revolution. We had 9 weekend firsts, many around the bay representing HHSA. Finishing two of the very hot and finicky wind HHSA weekends in first with my son crewing are great memories. My son will never forget the racing and fighting off all the insects. Who would have thought.

I also got my wife out a few times cruising, once for an overnight weekend cruise this fall.

2020 our focus is the A2B. So additional boat and crew prep is on schedule over the winter. As many of you know, lots to do.

Congrats to all for a fun season. Hope to see you at the banquet.

Cheers,

Doug

HHSA Racers,

Enclosed are the results of the Commodore Cup calculations for 2019.  Congratulations to Keith Mayes and the crew of Jubilee, the 2019 winners.  Special mention should be made to Doug Ellmore and the crew of Revolution for finishing only 2.05 points behind in second place, the closest the competition has ever been.  Please review carefully the calculations for the cup.  Let me know if you have any questions or changes.

Cheers,
Hank
