With respect to tacking/ducking, and rounding marks, those are as much tactics discussions as they are boat handling discussions... maybe Prag would be willing to have a bit of an advanced tactics discussion after the rules discussion for those that are interested and then we can practice on our own? I'd be hesitant to do on-the-water tacking/ducking drills and rounding drills at the beginning of the year when we are bit rusty from the winter.

Ah--I think I mis-understood what  you meant about mark roundings.  That should be good... I think we can do that.  We can fit a lot into 3 hours if we keep everyone close by... :).

I was talking about the boat handling part.
How we would be hesitant to do mark rounding drills 3 days after we will do start drills with several boats on the line is beyond my comprehension. At least the mark, unlike the other boats in the starting area, is not moving.
These were just suggestions, MOB is the most important, penalty turns is great too, maybe we don't have much time for more anyway.

I would emphasize safety and when boats meet issues, people can work on boat speed or tactics on their own.  Things like:

When to cross and when to duck?
Tacking in front of a boat without fouling
Best way to round a mark (windward, leeward)

I wonder how many exercises we can fit in three hours
