Women's Regatta RC
tslotwinski
Ahoy racers,

David McCullough and I are the race committee for the women's regatta this Saturday.  We have two boats, a signal boat starting the races and a finish boat to score the finishers.  So far we have seven folks assisting the RC (includes David and I).  We have room for several more.  If you would like to be on either boat and watch the women race, please respond to this post.

We will meet at HH North after the 9 am skippers meeting to decide boat assignments.  Both boats are docked at HH South and will depart from there as soon as practical after the skippers meeting and personnel transit to HHSouth.

Thanks - Ted
Sara
And remember that I am hosting an after race BBQ .  I am providing meat etc, but folks are asked to bring a dish and it is BYOB.  Please sign up on the event calendar so i get a count.

Michel

Hi,

I am available and interested in helping out on the RC boats. Also, Loris Sadler, should be on this list, is interested as well.

Let me know the time and place to show up.

Thank you

Huda

Ahoy RC volunteers!

So far I have eleven folks who have indicated an interest, one of which has had to drop out. Let me know if I have missed anyone.

Laurie Albert - owner of signal boat Passing Wind
Dave Albert - owner of signal boat Passing Wind
David McCullough - RC officer for the signal boat
Prag Katta
Mark Burrows
Tom Wiltshire
Huda Ayas
Lorie Sadler (had to drop)
Kathy Jacobson
Sara Gagneten
Ted Slotwinski - RC officer on finish boat Liberty Prevails

Liberty Prevails has a maximum practical capacity of four. Everyone else will be on the signal boat.

David and I will assign boats tomorrow. We will also provide some beverages and snacks, so you don’t need to bring anything unless you have something specifically you want to have. Remember there is the post-race party/bbq.

Any questions/comments/suggestions, don’t hesitate to e-mail me or respond to this forum.

Eunice and Michel,
Can you provide me the names of all the skippers, boat name and type, and PHRF rating for this race? I would also be interested in who is in SPIN and Non-SPIN please. If this is a secret, let me know because I can't find this complete list for this race anywhere. Thanks

Andrea,

There are no secrets and the race committee knows no more than you. They only know about boats that have registered or have stated in an email what class they are racing in. For this race any boat can show up on the course and notify the RC that they are racing and which class they are racing in. As for a boats rating there is a list on our web site on the racing page (the scratch sheet) of every boat in our racing program stating their type and their rating. For boats not in our racing program a rating will be assigned.

Have a fun race,

Kent

Therein lies the conundrum! Delirium is racing in Spin Class (I'm told) but they have not registered. Two boats have registered (with HHSA) but they are non-members and there is no information about the name of their boat or what type it is or their PHRF rating! I feel like I'm the one in the dark and on the outside. Does this make sense?

Andrea, I just sent you two emails. Do I have the wrong address for you/ I am copying them here.

I had sent you this list already, it has I believe all the information you are looking for. The only corrections which Ted will make is that Delirium is sailing Spin Class and Vivace is sailing Non-Spin.

Name of the skippers is on the even in the calendar: They are

Andrea Heintzelman Diva II
Eunice Lin Delirium
Ashley Love Artemis
Emily Manders Jubilee
Mary McClellan Spirit
Cynde Nordone Vivace
Margaret Stewart Amara
Beverly Wright Whoosh
Andrea18
I think, Michel, you must have the wrong personal email; it is heintzelman@comcast.net . What size and type of boat are Artemis and Vivace and their PHRF rating? Who do you have racing in spin and non-spin? Thanks so much.

Name    Type           Sail #   PHRF
Artemis Tartan 10m 22764 126
Vivace   GM Exp 30 63230 153

Note Vivace is its spin rating.  Non Spin might be slightly different, ted will let us know.

Lil
If you are having trouble getting PHRF ratings for non-member boats, you can check the PHRF website and search the boat name in the Valid List.  If the boat doesn't have a valid cert,  go to the New England PHRF website and get the boat's base rating according to the boat's make and model.  Add 9 seconds for roller furling and six seconds for a fixed prop (9 sec if a 3-bladed prop).  Hope this is helpful.

Cheers,
Hank

Andrea, I just sent you two emails. Do I have the wrong address for you/ I am copying them here.

I had sent you this list already, it has I believe all the information you are looking for. The only corrections which Ted will make is that Delirium is sailing Spin Class and Vivace is sailing Non-Spin.

Name of the skippers is on the even in the calendar: They are

Andrea Heintzelman Diva II
Eunice Lin Delirium
Ashley Love Artemis
Emily Manders Jubilee
Mary McClellan Spirit
Cynde Nordone Vivace
Margaret Stewart Amara
Beverly Wright Whoosh

Hank,

You are using the old PHRF adjustments for propellers. Current adjustment is +9 for 2-blade fixed, and +12 for 3-blade fixed. For Diva II I took the base of 132 and added +9 for above deck roller furling and +9 for 2-blade fixed propeller for a rating of 150.

Artemis II and Vivace have PHRF certificates.

Ted
