Getting Energy from the Wind
Author Last Post

Learning from Jimmy can be a little like drinking from a firehose. A knowledge of how lift in sails (and consequent ability to sail to windward) is caused by air viscosity induced circulation around sails is no guarantee of success on the race course. I can attest to that.

Jeff,

You on the other hand know how to win. If you are going to race, then that is important.

I thought I understood lift until I talked to Jimmy Chen of Chaotic Flux. After talking with him for a while, I'm pretty sure I know nothing about lift.

The wind is the fuel.  The crew is the engine!

You are welcome, Bob. Let me know if you have any questions.

Peter,

Thanks. for sending this.

Bob

I put together a briefing (attached) on how we get lift from the wind, or, in other words, energy. The slides need the sound track to get all the information out of them, but I don't know how to add that. If you like, I will talk you through them. One on one, or we can set up a group presentation. Enjoy!
