I've driven cars and flown planes, but am very green behind the ears when it comes to sailing. However, I'm very eager to learn and become proficient, I've even been doing some research on my own to get a better understanding on sailing lingo and tactics. As far as competitiveness, my goal is I'm going to meet new people, have a good time, and acquire a new skill (I'm a very recent transplant from the west coast), so honestly less serious is preferable for learning (I don't want to hold a good crew back) but ultimately I just want to be able to participate, so if the hardcore crews are the only ones looking, I am more than happy to step up my game into overdrive in order to participate. Thanks again! I really do appreciate you taking the time to do this for me, hopefully we'll meet in person at some point and I can repay the favor with a beer or something, haha.
