Please join Suzanne Johnson and Vicki Saporta for a discussion of the organization Sail Beyond Cancer at the next HHSA Zoominar. Suzanne Snyder Johnson will talk about the formation of the organization and what it does, and Vicki Saporta will let HHSA members know how they can get involved, followed by discussion.

Suzanne Snyder Johnson
In 2010, Suzanne Johnson, a single mother of three underwent countless rounds of treatments for breast cancer, then began the long road to recovery.
Drawing on her lifelong love of the water and sailing, which was an integral part of her own cancer recovery, she started a non-profit organization in 2014 whose mission was to provide private respite sails free of charge for anyone coping with any type or stage of cancer.
In February 2020, she started Sail Beyond Cancer, a national non-profit organization providing life affirming sailing experiences through harnessing the healing powers of wind, water and sail for anyone who is being challenged by cancer.
The organization currently has three chapters:
* Sail Beyond Cancer Vermont
* Sail Beyond Cancer North Shore in Massachusetts
*  3
rd chapter opening this summer here in Annapolis, MD.
These life-changing experiences are made possible by generous donations from caring corporations, family foundations and individuals. Donations of vessels, equipment, services, time and cash, combined with the dedication of volunteer board members, captains, and crew make it all happen.
We invite you to step aboard, lend a hand, and make a difference!

Vicki Saporta
Vicki has been sailing for more than 50 years, the last 26 aboard her Sabre 402 on the Chesapeake Bay with cruises to Maine and New England. She volunteers with Chesapeake Region Accessible Boating (CRAB) and the Naval Academy’s Offshore Sail Training Squadron. She is the President of Chesapeake Area Professional Captain’s Association (CAPCA), President of Sail Beyond Cancer Annapolis, and Commodore of Chesapeake Bay Sabre Association.
