Bob,

I was very sad to read your post, both on the HHSA forum and through Jack Detweiler. When I saw you earlier in season, I suspected that something was not right, but I didn't want to pry. I was hoping and praying that we would see you out there at least a couple of times.

I have enjoyed racing with you since joining HHSA. You were a huge inspiration and I learned a lot from you. I hope to continue your tradition of competition and sportsmanship. Thank you.

It was nice to know that Kevin will continue to race Resilient. Please give him my contact info so we can keep in touch and if I can help him in any way, I certainly will try.

You and Beth will continue to be in my prayers. You have fought the good fight and your strength and resiliency continue to amaze me.

With much love and hugs,

Eunice

Bob,

I have admired you and Resilient ever since I first saw you single-handed, sailing across across our bow on those many gorgeous Wednesday Nights on Herring Bay. I have enjoyed hearing your very recognizable voice on the radio, always respectful and considerate to everyone, always running RC in the most competent way (and also often shorthanded). I was thrilled to catch you on the Herrington webcam one weekday years ago leaving South for a solo sail while I sat at my office desk. I felt like you charted your own course and truly savored life and your sailing time on our Chesapeake.

I’ve missed seeing you this year. I’ll be raising a glass to you this weekend. Thank you for who you’ve been. You’ll always have my respect.

Bob,

It was always so much fun to see you on the water and the sheer pleasure you got out of sailing. Thank you again for letting us occasionally borrow Hutch and Mat during the past few years. We enjoyed racing with them. Wishing you fair winds and following seas on your next journey.

Bob,

It has been a pleasure to know you, compete against you, and work with you on both HHSA and CHESSS boards. You have enriched both organizations. A life well lived. Wishing you comfort and peace.

Dear Bob and Beth,

It has been a pleasure knowing you and Beth for these many years.  Enjoyed your crewing for me and racing against you, each time out learning something.  Also you were there to offer assistance when the need arose.

My condolences to you both.  Will miss you and your positive attitude as a sounding board on and off the race course.  The best to you during your journey.

Bob

It has been a pleasure sharing HHSA membership with you and working together for the sailing program. Thank you for your beautiful note.

Sarita and I wish you well on your next journey.

Michel

Dear Sailors.

Thank you for many years of shared racing challenges and joys (and frustrations). I am grateful for the opportunity to get to know many of you as steadfast friends. Racing on our Bay is one of the highlights in my life. Resilient is now owned by Kevin and will continue to experience fair winds and following seas.

Since January of 2020, I have been treated for esophageal cancer. Now, I am comfortable and receiving hospice care at home.

I am grateful for a full life in which sailing has been a deeply rewarding part. I thank each of you for the good times we have shared.

Bob
