HHSA Regatta Results
Author Last Post

Racers,

Reposting the HHSA Regatta results to reflect adjustments to the shorthanded (SH) racers. The finishing positions of the SH racers have been adjusted based on their corrected times for each of the races, just among the four SH boats.

This has resulted in a modified finishing order for some of the SH boats.

Jim

Gotcha.  I had no idea SH was so complicated, thanks for the explanation!

Kevin,

You are correct. I need to put the SH racers into 1, 2, 3, 4 order, based on their corrected times for each race, just comparing the SH boats’ times. I also need a course correction factor for race 3, since the cruising boats had a shortened course. Usually when I use a course correction factor (CCF)I just divide the long course length by the short course length and use that CCF to multiply by the corrected times of the boats sailing the shorter course.

I will use a CCF of 2.0, since the cruiser classes only had to sail one of the two leg course. The precise distances aren’t necessary. I will repost once I make those adjustments. It will probably be Friday before I can do that.

Thanks,

Jim

I especially want to thank the mark and committee boats for giving Put-in-Bay an opportunity to finish the third race!

Irwin,
We use the PHRF windward/leeward ratings for the regatta instead of circular to reflect not having reaching legs.

Kevin

Fun times! Thank you race committee, Eunice, and Jim.

I don't think it will affect the results, but wanted to note that Sea Chalet and PIB PHRF ratings are incorrect.

Sea Chalet: 213

I believe PIB is: 231

(according to past race sheets)

Hi Jim,
Thanks as always for the fast results!

The short handed numbers seem off for Put-In-Bay and Sea Chalet.

Thanks,
Kevin

All,

Reposting the results to remove Serendipity from the NSC class and adding her to the SPC class.

Also, a big thanks go to Eunice Lin for serving as the mark boat yesterday. She brought her Boston Whaler from Galesville, set the marks, reset the marks, finished the cruising classes at the shortened mark for race 3 and retrieved the marks at the end of the race. Thank you!

Jim

Racers,

Ten boats came out to race on the last full day of summer, 2025. Matthew and his crew on Lyonesse ran three races for the regatta, with the third race being shortened just for the Cruising classes, as the wind continued to ease.

Preliminary results attached.

Jim
