About this event
SHAW BAY ON WATER CONCERT FEATURING THE EASTPORT OYSTER BOYS AND THE WYE RIVER BAND BENEFITTING SHORE RIVERS IS CANCELLED!!
*** CANCELLED: HHSA has cancelled this event due to storm forecast during concert ***
ANNOUNCEMENT: At 10:21 am 9/6/25, the concert status alert announced:
Good Morning!
The band's have assessed weather and are cautiously moving forward with their preparations for the Shaw Bay Raft-Up Concert, but will be continuing to monitor the hourly forecast. ??
Concert start time is scheduled for 3pm but they may start playing a little earlier if able.
Updates will continue to be posted on this thread and announced on marine channel 72.
Important Note: As you consider your plans for event day weather, remember to factor in the size of your vessel and duration time to home port as conditions can rapidly change. Because of the potential storms, our bands request a wider berth than in year's past when choosing anchoring sites to allow for some swinging on the anchor.

UPDATE (9/6/25 8:30am): Storms predicted just after 3:30pm today with rains until midnight. You can have the concert status texted to you (see Shaw Bay Raft-Up Concert — ShoreRivers.)
Your hosts, Vince Ritts and Diane Boyd of S/V Time Out will be your anchor boat in Shaw Bay. Please feel free to raft up or anchor nearby. They will monitor VHF 68 (and 16) if you'd like to coordinate that way. Text works too (410-320-5599). Diane will host happy hour on Time Out.
Tomorrow’s winds are expected from the south. So, it may be best to anchor in the lee, the southern portion of the bay.
Last year, there were high northerly winds, which made Shaw Bay a little uncomfortable. Boats actually chose the anchorage just to the north instead (see chart below). We'll update based on current winds as we get a little closer.

Give your host a call or text if you have any questions or concern!
