Hi folks:
It looks like a review of the Race Committee documents is a popular idea. I want to put together a team of 3-4 people to review the current documents with an eye toward:
- Ensuring that our documents conform to the current Racing Rules of Sailing 2021-2024 (RRS)
- Identifying and outline differences with our local rules and practices vs. RRS
- Developing simplified Race Day checklist
- Reviewing format of Time/Flags/Radio script
- Best practices, tips, diagrams (Start/finish line, radio comms, timing, etc)
- Other suggestions/tools for improving/helping new/out-of-practice race committee skippers and crew
We can use these as a basis for updating the RC Training for the spring. I'd like to meet shortly after Thanksgiving to get started. Let me know if you would like to join the team.
