I never question the race committee’s decisions they always have a lot on their plate and as you have pointed out they can always just fire you 😱😊

Thanks Mark for a great race day. Right call in my opinion. Thanks for all the comms, too, on race day. 

I wanted to take a few minutes to communicate the RC perspective in case any of you are wondering, 'What the heck was he thinking with that line shift for race two?'

For race #1, we observed the wind out of the east and we got our little pencil with a string on it and set a nice square line with G1 as the windward mark (Course B). As we approached start time, we observed some oscillation to the northeast, but still coming back to the east so I opted not to reset the line. By the time the last boat crossed the finish line, the wind had backed to the NE and was beginning to build. The wind shift was dramatic enough that I felt like I couldn't ignore it. So I'm faced with two sub-optimal choices:

A. Take the time consuming step and move the entire parade of 10 boats so that 83A (Course A) is the windward mark, or

B. Try to shift the line as far as I could to the SE with the intent of giving some semblance of an upwind leg...I opted for B.

I tried to explain this reasoning over the radio. If you think I made the wrong call, you can cut my pay. ;)
