Mark, I just renewed my PHRF rating for a 155 genoa, so my rating will go back to 180.

Lyonesse is set for cruising spinnaker this season.

I may have two VIKO 30s out racing spin this season. Working on it.

HI folks:
Here is a summary of the boats that are interested in Spinnaker. We are still light on numbers to be able to split the classes.  The Competition Commmittee is still brainstorming to come up with a competitive split.  More boats would make this easier.
If you haven't weighed in on being a spin boat, please do now.

Cheers,
Mark

Boat  SA/D (Actual) PHRF(spin) base

Kaya 21.98 147

Maya doesn't have any spin gear, so can only race NS.

Ted

Eunice - you may be right. Certainly 2023 had a slow start to organizing a fleet for NS-racing, the first series often being 2, 3, or 4 boats. Never got that big on a regular basis, but some races had 6+, I think.

Take care

Wow. Will there even be a NS-Racing class? LP doesn't have a spinnaker setup. I may end up racing NS cruising.

Eunice

Amara will be spin, when we're around

Kaya (SA/D 21.98, PHRF 147) would race in a cruising spinnaker class or in a Spin B class if one was created.

John

Deck Boss,  Spook will not be racing except for some short handed races.  Rich

Hi folks:

We have had some discussions of the last few months considering the addition of a Cruising Spinnaker class. This would be in addition to the "Racing" Spinnaker class. Currently, we would use the same SA/D=22 as the separator between the two classes. Cruising Class is 22 or less.

We would need at least 4 or 5 boats in both classes to maintain competitive fleets

To see if this proposal is viable, I want to poll the fleet. Please take a moment to post a reply to this post stating that you would race in either the Cruising Spinnaker or Racing Spinnaker class if available in 2024.

Please include your boat name, PHRF Rating, and SA/D.

Thanks,

Deckboss
