All,
As some of you may have heard on the radio last evening, and for those that have not heard; there is a genuine interest to keep up our Wed evening race habit through an informal, no points, no awards practice races for September.
Initial discussions have come up with the following, with inputs welcomed.
We are putting together an SI that will include a few notes about rabbit starts since many of us have not done very many (if at all, all the more reason to practice). Our aim is to keep this effort simple, with enough guidance to make
this a safe, interesting learning experience while having fun sailing.
One start for all boats, we post finish times on a google sheet when pass HHSA “A” (as long as its there!) to Doug Ellmore (volunteered to score).
Like COVID series, we will end during daylight (or everyone just finish in place when consensus made), other ideas welcomed (except pursuit race is too complex with Rabbit starter).
If you are interested in practice racing during any of the Wed evenings in September, please complete the fields on the following Google Sheet.

Further discussions can occur between those signed up on the above through emails provided; perhaps occasional racing discussion forum. As a dynamic document, there is no deadline to sign up.
A lot of behind the scenes discussions have allowed this to idea to solidify, with lots of great inputs (still open for more inputs).
Looks like there are already just about enough volunteers (there may be an opening, or you can request a switch) to be the rabbit start boat (instead of RC, this way everyone races!).
Once we have consensus and more details on how to approach this, perhaps we invite our crew, families, friends with boats in the area that would like to join in, no need have active membership or PHRF rating (we can make one up).
Let’s continue having fun sailing! See those interested on the water next Wed between 5 pm
