Club Beneteau Chesapeake Bay (known as CB2) would like to invite HHSA on an extended cruise in June, 2023. For those who wish to have the experience of an overnight ocean sail, this adventure might be just right for you! CB2 is planning to incorporate an overnight sail from Cape Charles around the Chesapeake Light to Norfolk. This leg of the trip will be broken into groups by boat size and speed and each group will be led by an experienced captain. This is a great way to build experience and confidence in a group setting providing support and added safety.
The 47th annual Harborfest is being held from 9-11 June with the Parade of Tall Ship at noon on Friday, 9 June and fireworks on Saturday, 10 June at 2130. You can google ‘Norfolk Harborfest 2023’ to get a complete schedule of events and festivities.
Tidewater Yacht Marina has agreed to hold slips for us, but only until FEBRUARY 8. The slips are located together on E dock arriving 8 June and departing 11 June. The marina will require a two-day minimum deposit. The rate is $3.75 per ft. with shore power included for Club Beneteau participants. The marina prefers using DOCKWA. Be sure to include ‘Club Beneteau Chesapeake Bay’ in the DOCKWA comments section and do not request shore power, since it is included for participants. Here is a starting framework for the trip, but it is truly a starting point since no participant planning meetings have been held yet. The only firm part is Harborfest. Many CB2 members are homeported at HHN, so they will be starting and ending the trip there. The return trip will have a shorter, optional itinerary for those who want to get home sooner.
